Dr. Taras Chubenko's Spiritual Quest and Varied Experiences

Dr. Taras Chubenko, a retired Orthodox priest, embarked on his spiritual quest more than 50 years ago. Born in Ellwangen, Germany, in 1946, he immigrated to the US in 1951. Chubenko holds degrees from Penn State University, St. Sophia Seminary, and St. Petersburg Theological Seminary. 

 

He served as a Pastor, Diocesan Administrator, and Seminary professor for 40 years, was Elected to the Board of Education for 9 years and served as president and also served as chair of the Ethics Board and Housing Authority.

 

His diverse experiences include serving in the US Army as Microwave Sight Chief in South Korea. Dr. Chubenko is also a licensed private pilot and a certified hypnotist, running various businesses before dedicating his life to the priesthood. Dr. Chubenko has been a lecturer on spirituality, mysticism, religion, and Masonry for five decades.

 

Married for 56 years and raising four sons, he also served as a chaplain for police and fire departments and was honored as Man of the Year in Carteret, NJ. At 74, Chubenko pursued a license in funeral directing in Florida, where he currently resides, caring for his wife with Alzheimer’s.

 

In his book “Connecting To God, A Journey Over 50 Years,” Dr. Chubenko shares the wisdom gained from his spiritual journey and diverse life experiences, offering guidance for others seeking self-discovery and spiritual growth.
